Twitter is the best way to read Laravel news. But it’s impossible to read the whole feed, it’s huge! Also, it is full of spammy ads. So I decided to create a FILTERED Twitter feed, and today I present to you… LaraTweets!
This is what it looks like:
What happens “behind the scenes”:
– Tweets mentioning “Laravel” are crawled via the Twitter API – once every hour
– The system filters spammy accounts
– The system attaches tags if it finds them in the text, like “Vue” or “Laravel 7”
– That’s it, they are presented in chronological order
Sounds simple, right?
But it solves a pretty big problem.
For example, if you tried to read tweets in Laravel, you would see this:
Three tweets fit on one page (due to large images), two of them are not in English and the other is a spammy auto-tweet ad about a course? Hell no.
That’s why I created LaraTweets. For my part, to find new material for my weekly Laravel newsletter, but maybe some of you would like to read tweets like me.
The only downside, even though I use LaraTweets myself, is that the official Twitter API doesn’t give the full text of the tweet, so there is a “View original” link if you want to read the full tweet.
Tags and topics
This project also tags tweets, so you can browse the feed filtered by a topic. Here is an example from “Laravel 7”.
At the moment there are not many tags, I will add them manually after noticing the repeating patterns.

The entire LaraTweets feed is free and accessible to the public. You can come and read whenever you want.
But if you sign up, you can personalize your feed:

– Or, favorite the accounts you want to be highlighted as important
