The players are back at Bodymoor and England take on Norway in the World Cup this evening. If England win, there will be the semi-final on Wednesday against Argentina or Switzerland. The World Cup final takes place just days before our first pre-season match.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m now a bit interested in the World Cup and obviously want England to go all the way, but it will have an impact on our season. Of course it will impact many sides, so it will balance out, but I would prefer it impact all other sides and not us.

The upcoming season is an important one and one might argue that it is one of the most important in a long time. If we can be successful in Europe and finish top four again, it will act as a catalyst or perhaps a springboard to take the next step.
And yes, we still have six weeks until the Premier League season starts, but we have a big game against Arsenal the week before and it would be nice to start the season with some silverware.
Add to that I think we’re going to see quite a bit of activity in the transfer market between the end of the World Cup and the start of the new season. I think our starting XI next season, when all the players are back, could be different by two or three players. And I don’t think that’s a bad thing.
But nothing happens and I blame the World Cup for that. And I feel like I could write more about the World Cup, but I think we need to write about FIFA instead. Is it just me or is this one of the most twisted organizations in the world?
I feel like this World Cup has already lasted too long and it should be shorter. There should be no breaks in the middle of the half pretending to be for the players and the VAR must go. Keep the goal line technology, but we really need to ditch VAR because it’s not for the game.
Anyway, this is just a blog refresh as I thought we needed a post. It’s early and it’s just started raining where I am, but when I’m done I’ll go hit a few balls, have an early dinner and head to the pub for the match later.
And yes, I am optimistic. I think it hits home.

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.
In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.
The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
