It’s so nice that real football is back and I think after the farce of England’s last two matches I can write real football with confidence. I mean, some parties didn’t even take it seriously, so why should we? And it wasn’t a question.
But football is back and it’s club football and it’s Europe on Thursday in Italy at Bologna. They are currently eighth in the standings and are not on the best course. That said, they have won three of the last five matches, they are at home and will know what to expect.
But it’s not just about that for us. Yes, Europe is very important but it’s just that it’s back and things are going well at the moment. Maybe I’m too optimistic, but with Youri and McGinn back it feels like things are heading in the right direction, although if you look at the form table we’re not in as good a position as our opposition on Thursday night.
It’s amazing how one result and a few players can make you feel differently about upcoming matches. Not that I thought it was the end of the world, but it was difficult at times. But I think we all recognized that our three first-choice midfielders were out. And this isn’t me knocking the players that came in, but there’s a reason they’re called first pick.
And I think this international break would have helped us. We had a trip to Spain, the players who left performed well and I don’t think we had any injuries when they returned. It’s good. And that sets us up for Thursday and Nottingham Forest on Sunday. Sunday will be tough too, but three points and we will be pretty confident for the rest of the season.
So that’s sort of the message of the game, but there will be another one on Thursday, but I can’t leave this post without mentioning a little bit about Arsenal and Arteta asking for perspective. They are nine points ahead of Manchester City but City have a game in hand and Arsenal must travel to City. Will Arsenal bottle it?
It’s true, that’s all. The kids aren’t in school this week, so I plan to only work in the morning, followed by a liquid lunch and be in bed at a reasonable time all week except Thursday. Who joins me?

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.
In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.
The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
